Ways to Give to Eden House: Holiday Wish List 2016

11/29/2016

Picture

The residents of Eden House are always grateful for donations, but especially during the holidays. Cold weather is coming fast, four residents are beginning to think about graduation, and much of the furniture and appliances in the house are worn out or broken and need replacing.

Below are a number of ways you can give to Eden House, both financially and in-kind, and make a difference in the lives of trafficking survivors.

FINANCIAL DONATIONS
To give a financial donation to Eden House, you may mail a check made out to Eden House to our PO Box:
Eden House
PO Box 750386
New Orleans, LA 70175

You can also donate using PayPal. Click here to donate.

Use Amazon Smile. When you select Eden House as your charity of choice, 0.5% of anything you spend on Amazon will be donated to our organization. Click here to get started.

IN-KIND DONATIONS

To donate items to Eden House, contact our program assistant, Courtney at (504) 407-0943 or assistant@edenhousenola.org. When donating items like furniture, we usually ask to see pictures of the items and have details about the dimensions to know whether or not it will fit in the house.
As cold weather approaches, Eden House residents are in need of winter clothing, including coats, warm pants, sweatshirts and sweaters. The sizes of our residents include 2, 4, 12, 14, 16, 18, and 24. If you have new or nearly new winter clothes in these sizes, our residents will gladly accept them.

There are a number of items that Eden House currently needs. Below is our holiday wish list for the house:
  • Twin size Hampton and Rhodes  mattress
  • Stove
  • Large toaster oven
  • Toaster
  • Pots and pans
  • New couches to replace old worn out ones in living room
You can check our Amazon wish list for items we currently need and items we frequently need, including toiletries and ink for our office printers. Click here to see the list of frequently needed items.

PLANNING FOR RESIDENTS' FUTURES
Finally, we have four residents who will graduate from Eden House in the late Spring and early Summer. These residents have worked hard to complete our two-year program and are ready to enter the world on their own. They are in need of furniture for their new homes, including chairs, couches, tables, dressers and beds. We are also in need of a storage facility in order to keep furniture that has been donated for our residents while they complete the program.

VOLUNTEER
We always welcome individuals and groups who are willing to give their time to help Eden House. We currently need volunteers who can serve as handy people and help with maintenance on the house. Contact our office at (504) 407-0943 if you have maintenance skills you think Eden House could use.

The staff and residents of Eden House are always grateful for donations, both in-kind and financial. We are lucky to have a community who cares about our mission and wants to improve the lives of trafficking survivors. We are humbled by your generosity, especially during this busy holiday season. If you have any questions, please contact us at (504) 407-0943.

Sincerely,

The Women of Eden House
